After moving to the area and wanting my child to go to the "best" school, I could only get a place at St Johns.  I had read all about it and didnt get the best feeling from what I read, but after being shown around I was quite impressed.  The classes are small, so the education is probably the same as an independent school.  The teachers and staff are just lovely.  My daughter is very happy there - so happy days.

I agree with Gabsygirl, St John's is a lovely school. Having our top 3 choices rejected we were given St John's. Our girl is extremely happy there and her progress has been astounding when compared to her friends who attend the more favoured schools in the area. The teaching staff are wonderful and the new headmistress is, step by step, creating a first class learning environment. We are so glad that out daughter was given a place at St John's.

That's lovely :) We picked a previous school based on league tables (didn't know what else to go on!) and my son especially had a terrible time there. We moved to a school that wasn't as pretty and didn't achieve such high grades consistently and he is so much happier. It's hard to know what to pay attention to isn't it.
