    Sevenoaks Boys took 7th place in the team competition, the best team result in the boys race for over 25 years.
    The 38th Boys Knole Run and the 16th Girls Knole Run took place in Knole Park on Saturday (14 January). It was a sunny but cold day, almost ideal conditions for the race, though one or two parts of the course were still icy even in the afternoon.     The list of failing schools in Kent is being kept secret by KCC.
    Parents in Sevenoaks are being kept in the dark over plans for failing schools by KCC's cabinet member for education. Under a new initiative called Kent Challenge, education authority Kent County Council has drawn up a secret list of 132 poorly performing schools in need of urgent treatment.     Several schools in the Sevenoaks area are being affected by the industrial action.
    Kent County Council has issued the following update (Tuesday 29 November) on schools in the Sevenoaks and surrounding area that will be either be closed, or partially closed, due to the industrial action on 30 November.
