Firefighters were called to deal with a blaze in a Shoreham house yesterday evening.

Crews attended the two-storey property, in Boakes Meadow, at 6.25pm.

A Kent Fire Service spokesman said: 'Crews wore breathing apparatus to tackle the fire and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke.

'The Red Cross Vehicle was in attendance to assist residents but no-one was hurt in the incident and the cause is not yet known.'

An investigation into the cause has now been launched.
