And it’s in our very own Sevenoaks district. Yes, Phillipines Shaw in beautiful Ide Hill is the most costly address in Kent – averaging a whopping £2,352,00 per home.

There are an estimated 228 streets in England and Wales with an average house price above £1 million; including 36 with an average price of more than £2 million, according to Lloyds TSB.

This puts the diminutive Phillippines Shaw in the top 36 streets in the whole of England and Wales.

Ide Hill itself is one of the most sought-after villages in this area. With its high-performing, low class size primary school, picturesque green and church and surrounding woods and stately homes and gardens.

The famous Chartwell – bought by Winston Churchill and now owned by the National Trust – is but a short hop.

Do you live in Ide Hill? Is it worth the price tag or is this just another meaningless press release statistic?
