Sevenoaks voters: one of highest turnouts in UK

Despite the safety of the Sevenoaks seat, which has been held by a Conservative for nearly 90 years, 71.1% of voters turned out to make their feelings felt on 6 May.

Turnout in Sevenoaks second highest in Kent
The country on the whole saw a 29.6m turnout (65.1%) a rise from 61% in 2005.
At the top of the chart was Renfrewshire East (77.3%) and right at the bottom sat Hull West & Hessle with just 45.7%.
Sevenoaks had a higher turnout than any other ward in Kent except close neighbours, Tonbridge and Malling, where 71.5% voted.
