Open Farm Sunday on 13 June this year

If you love food and want to understand more about where it comes from, Open Farm Sunday on 13 June 2010 should be right up your street.

Now in its fifth year, Open Farm Sunday gives people a chance to experience life at farms across the country, to take part in events and activities and taste delicious local produce.

The organisers say that each farm’s event will be different and activities will be “based around the host farm’s own individual story. Activities during the day may include a farm walk, nature trail, tractor & trailer rides, pond dipping, activities for kids, mini farmers market or picnics.”

Near Sevenoaks, there are two open farms in Hildenborough and one in Chiddingstone, but it’s likely many more will sign up in the next month or so. To find your nearest event, visit the FarmSunday.org site.
