The 26-year-old man that survived being hit by a train at Otford station last week, jumped on purpose. So say witnesses that watched the tragic incident unfold.

The man was hit by the 13.56 service from Sevenoaks to Kentish Town, as it pulled into platform two at the village station on 2 February, 2011. On the day, British Transport Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

The man is slowly recovering at the Royal London Hospital after being airlifted from the scene.
