Waitrose announces temporary new home
On Tuesday, 29 June the store will close in its current location at 58 High Street and reopen in its temporary home in the old Woolworths store (126 High Street).
An information leaflet distributed to customers reads reads: "At your new temporary Waitrose in Sevenoaks you'll see the familiar faces of our Partners who have transferred, and a selection of your favourite Waitrose groceries."
For those of you that use Waitrose for your 'big shop', the temporary store may be a bit lacking. The nearest full size Waitroses are at Sovereign Way, Tonbridge and 168 Main Road, Biggin Hill.
One perk of the new temporary home at 126 High Street: the store is open later, with an 8pm close on Monday through to Friday, 7pm on a Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
One massive downside: no car park.

Comments
Its not too bad for me as I tend to do the bulk of the shopping at the Riverhead Tesco and use Waitrose for little luxuries.

ReportDefinitely - I always have my kids with me (including a toddler) so the staff have been having to bring my bags to the car for me, which is lovely for me, but a real pain for them!

ReportQuite agree, can't have the inconvenience of being unable to park for too long.

ReportYes, that's what the lady who works there told me too (actually, she said 11 months but that was a couple of weeks ago). Hopefully everything will stay on schedule!

ReportApparently the original Waitrose will open up again in 10 months once works are completed.
