Bodiam Castle’s new roam and roast days are the perfect way to relax after the Christmas festivities. The event combines a delicious roast with a guided tour of the castle on the following days 9, 16, 23 and 30 January & 6 February between 11:30am and 2:30pm.
Guided by a member of “The Bodiam Household” in authentic medieval costume, the 1 hour tour will give visitors a fascinating insight into the history behind these romantic ruins and the wider estate.
Among the historical features to discover are the ‘murder holes’ and the original wooden portcullis, which is still in place in the gatehouse.
From the castle’s battlements and towers visitors gain an insight into what life was like in the castle, whilst enjoying unrivalled views of the beautiful winter countryside that surrounds the moated castle.
After the tour, visitors can relax in the Terrace Room and enjoy a freshly prepared two course roast lunch.
Winter Roast and Roam will take place between 11:30am and 2:30pm on 9, 16, 23 and 30 January & 6 February. Tickets are £25 per person and include the tour, castle entry, parking and lunch. Booking is required.
