Do houses become older towards the centre of a village? We will investigate what remains of medieval, early modern, Georgian and Victorian Riverhead by walking through the village and identifying features of earlier to later buildings. On a plan of the village we will mark the original centre or centres of the community then we will trace how the village evolved from there. The result of our researches, supplemented by our historical file already compiled, will be a date map and a time line for Riverhead charting the main historical events responsible for growth or change. Beginners are welcome.
