Want to take up one of the most exciting sports around – and get a great workout both physically and mentally?
Adult beginners' courses in sabre fencing start on Tuesday January 14th at the Sennocke Centre, Sevenoaks School. The 10 week courses are coached by ex-GB international Chris Schofield and are designed for men and women with no experience of the sport, or who have fenced in the past but feel they are a bit rusty. Beginners are able to progress onto an intermediate class or join in regular club nights.
'Age and fitness are no barrier,' says Chris. 'Fencing is a great way to get fit in a sociable environment. A lot of people may have fenced in the past – perhaps at university – and the New Year is a great time to take it up again.'
All necessary equipment is provided and the course runs from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, making it ideal for those who commute or have family commitments in the early evening. The cost is £70 for 10 weeks.
