More cycle stands are being installed at sites across the district of Sevenoaks as part of planned cycle facilities improvements.

It follows Sevenoaks District Council securing £15,000 in funding.

This further round of cycle facilities installed will comprise of three stands in West Kingsdown, two stands at The Vine and seven stands at Bligh's.

Two cycle racks at the Council Offices led the way when they were installed in mid January, followed by the installation of a further four stands at Dunton Green Recreation Ground last week.

These eighteen installations are in addition to the existing 18 stands installed at Edenbridge and White Oak Leisure Centres in 2012.

Cllr Pat Bosley, the Council's member for Healthy Living, says: "I hope that the provision of cycle racks at convenient locations will encourage more residents to hop on their bikes for local trips.

"We are happy to be supporting the legacy of the London 2012 Paralympic Road Cycling."

This funding has been made available by Kent County Council.
