A SHERWOOD man who thought he would not be over the drink-drive limit after three glasses of wine has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Graham Easton, of Sandown Park, admitted the charge at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The court heard how on July 30 the 64-year-old had consumed the drink before boarding a train from London to Tunbridge Wells.

A breath test found he had 52mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Easton, who represented himself, said: “I didn’t think I would be over the limit.”

Magistrates banned Easton for 12 months and told him to pay a £400 fine, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
