Local artists wanted
Artists are invited to submit their work, which could appear in a group exhibition at the Kaleidoscope Gallery at Sevenoaks Library. The exhibition will run from 14 October to 24 November 2010, and is the third in a series of exhibitions of local artists’ work based around the gallery’s name.
This time the theme is observation – the ‘scopos’ element of the name, and submissions are welcome that “investigate aspects of observation in contemporary art and explore the relationship between artist, artwork and audience.
"The act of looking is often socially regulated, but how are these rules changing with developments in the politics of equality and with modern technologies?”
All media will be considered by the gallery but any entrants should specify any technical installation and display requirements in the application. Please email images (up to 1MB) along with a statement about yourself and your work, or get in touch for more information on kaleidoscope@kent.gov.uk.
The deadline for receipt of submission is 10am Monday, September 13 2010.
Successful artists will be notified within a week of the deadline to make arrangements for delivery of the work.
You can see work from the previous two exhibitions: Kalos [beauty] Eidos [Form] and .
