Walking frame stolen from 102-year-old woman: She is now housebound

A 102-year-old woman is desperate to see her walking frame returned after she said it was stolen from her home.

Freda McGregor, who lives in a retirement complex off West Street in Wrotham, last saw her walking frame outside her front door at 9am on 19 December. 

She discovered it was missing at 11am on 21 December.

Worth £177, it has four wheels, a basket, a seat and is described as black or dark-coloured. Without it, Mrs McGregor is virtually housebound.

PC Ben Foskett from the Tonbridge and Malling Neighbourhood Policing Unit is leading the investigation to find the missing frame. 

House-to-house enquiries have been conducted and now he has issued an emotive appeal asking other potential witnesses to come forward.

He said: "This is an item of particular importance to an elderly lady who struggles to get about without it, and it is worth far more to her than the person who has taken it. 

"We would be grateful for any information leading to it's return or the identification of any offenders."
