Time is running out for local businesses to sign up for a free conference to help stimulate economic growth and shape economic development strategy for West Kent and East Sussex.

This conference takes place from 9.30am to 1pm on 18 January 2013 at East Malling Conference Centre, ME19 6BJ.

It aims to clarify current issues for local businesses and provide an opportunity for engagement direct with Government, Local Government and the South East Local Enterprise Partnership.

Businesses are invited to hear from and question, those working in economic development at a national, regional and local government level on the measures being developed to support businesses in West Kent and East Sussex out of recession.

There will also be a chance to ask further questions and network during the free buffet lunch provided.

Minister of State for Business and Enterprise and MP for Sevenoaks Michael Fallon will be contributing alongside senior representatives from Local Government, including Cllr Paul Carter, Leader of Kent County Council and Cllr Peter Jones, Leader of East Sussex County Council.

Chairing the meeting will be the Chairman of the West Kent Partnership and Leader of Sevenoaks District Council, Cllr Peter Fleming.

Cllr Peter Fleming says: "In conjunction with the Districts of Wealden and Rother, the West Kent Partnership has identified transport, broadband and the rural economy as priority issues.

"It is important that we hear from local businesses on these topics and others that they feel are barriers to growth.

"I would urge local businesses to attend and contribute their views towards shaping the economic strategy of West Kent and East Sussex."

This conference is organised by the West Kent Partnership a public private sector economic partnership that addresses common sub regional economic and transport issues.

It identifies strategic action for lobbying and other interventions to strengthen economic success in West Kent.
