Sevenoaks school says thank you - and prepares for next event

The New School at West Heath in Sevenoaks raised around £9,000 from its recent Christmas Fayre which was attended by more than 700 people.

The money will go into the Bursary Fund to help support a child that needs the specialist therapeutic environment provided by the school.

The Fayre was opened by the Mayor of Sevenoaks, Margaret Crabtree, who has chosen the school as her charity for this year.

Santa's Grotto proved to be a huge success, with its mesmerising winter wonderland theme, courtesy of the school's creative arts faculty.

Local crafts were provided by more than 30 stall holders and their quality Christmas gifts were very popular. Harrods once again donated a mountain of goods to sell at the Fayre to help boost the fund raising efforts.

Principal Christina Wells said: "I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone that attended our Christmas Fayre.

"We are so lucky to have such tremendous support from students, parents, our staff and the people of Sevenoaks. Our thanks also go to Sevenoaks Mayor Margaret Crabtree for the support she gives to us."

* The New School at West Heath is now looking forward to its school play 'The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe' from The Chronicles of Narnia.

the 'Acting Up' student Theatre Company will be putting on performances from the 12 to 14 December.

There are two afternoon (13 & 14 Dec) and three evening performances open to the public.

Performances start at 1.30pm and 6.30pm

Tickets are priced at £5 each.

In addition to the above, we are offering local school performances commencing at 10.15am on the 13 and 14 December. Tickets are priced at £2 each, plus one free teacher ticket for every 10 tickets booked.
