Sevenoaks rubbish collections unaffected by festive break

Refuse collections will carry on as normal over the festive season, Sevenoaks District Council has promised.

Residents should put their bags out on their usual collection day by 7am, as a weekly Monday to Friday service will be provided throughout the holiday period.

This includes collections on the bank holidays of Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January.

The council's garden waste collection service is also unaffected and green bins and garden waste bags should also be out on the usual days by 7am.

Cllr Avril Hunter, the council's cabinet member for the Environment, said: "Our refuse collectors are going the extra mile this year by working throughout the festive period.

"This means our residents will not be inconvenienced by changes to their collection days or missing a collection altogether."
