The Chiana Peking Chinese restaurant in Seal appears to have closed its doors.Customers who have visited the premises during the last few weeks have found the building in darkness and blinds down on the large windows.

On a window and the door is a notice which says the building is the subject of a possession notice and that anybody attempting to enter without the landlord's permission is committing a criminal offence.

The premises at 67 High Street Seal has been the site of a restaurant for many years.

It was  the popular Copper Kettle restaurant before being taken over as the Chiana Peking around 20 years ago.

It is another blow for the village of Seal which has already lost two more pubs, the Kentish Yeoman and The Crown.

Just down the road from the Chiana Peking was another pub, The Prince of Wales which became the Tandoori Nights Indian restaurant after the pub closed down.

Sevenoaks locals with long memories will also remember another restaurant on the corner of Church Street and the High Street in the premises now occupied by the Seal Kebab and Pizza fast food outlet.

Stories are circulating that another Sevenoaks town restaurant could be closing its doors and making way for another dining venue. Does anybody know which one it is?
