Sevenoaks pupils attending schools in Hildenborough and Tonbridge have been warned to be on their guard following a number of thefts in the past two weeks.

Police investigating the thefts are looking at the possibility the crimes may be linked after a changing room was broken into in a Tonbridge school during a football match, between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday 7 January.

An Omega watch, mobile phones and an ipod touch were stolen. More recently, on Wednesday 11 January at around 2:30pm, a school in Hildenborough had a number of mobile phones taken from changing rooms there.

The suspect in the most recent incident is described as a white man, around 6ft 2in tall, with short dark cropped hair, unshaven, wearing a grey hoody with dark trousers and dark shoes with a white sole.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes is being asked to contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting crime reference YY/736/12.
