Forecasts that the unseasonable warm weather we have been enjoying could be coming to an end means that the local winter service plan for Sevenoaks, put into place by KCC Highways and Transportation, may soon come into force.

SEVENOAKS FREEZE: Winter weather could be on the way.
This year KCC Highways and Transportation and Sevenoaks District Council are working in partnership to ensure that in ice and snow conditions, key areas identified by district council staff, including pavements in those areas, are kept as clear as possible.
A firm of contractors, Enterprise, is on standby to deal with emergencies as they arise.
Arrangements have also been made between KCC Highways and Transportation and Sevenoaks District Council for a mixture of salt/sand to be made available.
Local farmers have also been asked to clear certain rural routes when the snow reaches a depth of 50mm. The farmer will be paid a hire fee to use his own tractor along with a KCC-provided and maintained snow plough.
Another announcement on winter plans for the rail network is expected this week. Keep an eye out for details on Sevenoaks People.
