MURDER MYSTERY: More tests are needed to establish the cause of death of the woman who died in the apartments above The Oak Tree in Sevenoaks last Friday.
Originally reports were circulating that she had died from a stab wound but it now appears these were incorrect and the cause of death is inconclusive so far.
The latest reports are that the 33-year-old man who was arrested and questioned over the suspicion of murder found the woman dead on a sofa in the apartment above the Oak Tree.
He called the ambulance services and they in turn called the police.
A post mortem examination was carried out on the victim, but police say that further tests need to be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
The 33-year-old man from Sevenoaks has since been released on police bail.
Police officers were called to an apartment above The Oak Tree in Sevenoaks High Street at around 3.40am on Friday morning following reports that a woman's body had been found.
It is believed the woman who died, who may be Russian, was an employee at Loch Fyne at the top of town and that the restaurant decided not to open on Friday evening as a mark of respect.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 690690 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
