More than 150 players, supporters and friends turned out at Sevenoaks Rugby Football Club in Knole Paddock recently for an annual evening of Christmas carol singing.

The event has been organised by club stalwart Hilary Everitt for more than 10 years and this year the singers were able to take advantage of the extra space gained by the new clubhouse extension.

The musical accompaniment was provided by the London Saxophone Choir.

Two of the highlights of the evening were the children singing Away in a Manger and the front row forwards' rendition of Twelve days of Christmas. Every time they sang 'Five gooooold riiiings' it almost took the roof off.

The evening ended with what has now become a Christmas tradition at the carol singing. The SRFC 1st XV has a whip round and buy a round of port for everyone - a very nice touch indeed.
