With the traditional 5th of November Guy Fawkes night falling on a Saturday this year, organisers of firework displays around Sevenoaks are expecting a bumper turn out for their events.

* KEMSING School's PTA is sneaking in before the traditional Guy Fawkes Night by holding its fireworks and BBQ on Friday 4 November. The evening gets underway at 6.30pm and the display starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Dynes Rd Post Office, the School Office and Best One Convenience Store, West End. They are: Adults £4.50 in advance, £5.50 on the gate; Children U16 and OAP £2.50 in advance, £3.50 on the gate; Family (2 adults and 2 children) £12 in advance and £17 on the gate; Under 3s free.

* In SEVENOAKS there will be a touch of pantomime surrounding the popular torchlight procession from the High Street to Dukes meadow next to Sevenoaks School which marks the start of the Round Table display – but for all the right reasons.

The cast of the Sevenoaks Pantomime, Mother Goose, being staged at the Stag Theatre from 9 December, will be joining the thousands of people who take part in the procession which starts from the car park in Buckhurst Lane at 6.30pm.

The town mayor, Cllr Mrs Margaret Crabtree, will officially start the proceedings and the bonfire will be lit at 7pm with the first rocket at 7.30pm.

All proceeds from the night are given to local charities with dozens of good local causes benefitting over the years.

Anthony Akerman, chairman of Sevenoaks Round Table, said: "Last year we raised more than £20,000 for local charities and this year we hope to beat that figure with even more people attending."

Tickets for the event are priced at £7 for adults and £3 for children if bought in advance. A family ticket for two adults and two children is £17 and are available from Stag Theatre, Lorimers, Tourist Information and Sevenoaks Travel.

* KNOCKHOLT village is hosting a fireworks spectacular on Saturday, 5 November in the field on the corner of Blueberry Lane and Main Road near Pratts Bottom. The gates will open at 6pm.

Villagers will be carrying flaming torches and at 6.45 will set light to a chain of Olympic type rings. It forms part of a 'Going for Gold' theme being organised for next year's Knockholt Carnival, which takes place on 7 July.

Tickets for the firework display are available from Knockholt village shops and pubs and on the gate.

* IN WESTERHAM residents will be descending on the King Georges Playing Field at Costells Meadow on 5 November for the 17th Sevenoaks (Westerham) Scout Group's bonfire night and fireworks.

There will be a BBQ and bar and the firework display will be followed by music provided by Karen Bizell.

The entrances for the night, which open at 5.30pm, are via The Scout Hut in Hortons Way, Costells Meadow and for those driving, the Darenth Road car park on the A25.

The display starts at 6.30pm and the entrance fee is adult - £8; child - £5; family - £18 (2 x adult & 2 x children).

Tickets are available from Manuka Shoes and Hospice in The Weald, High St, Westerham. Some tickets are available on the night but people are advised to get tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

* OFTORD Scouts will be holding their bonfire night on Saturday, 5 November in The Chalk Pit close to the Scout Hut off Station Road.

The gates open at 5.30pm and thr first firework will be at 6pm. Tickets are £4 each (under 5s free) and refreshments will be available.

* WEALD villagers will also be gathering for their annual display but are avoiding the busy 5th November by holding a display on Saturday 29 October at the Scout Field. A torchlight procession will leave the memorial hall at 6.30pm and the first rocket will go up at 7.15pm. All funds raised will go towards supporting village groups and charities.

* EYNSFORD fireworks and bonfire night will be held on 5 November at Furlongs Farm starting at 6pm. Tickets are available from village shops and the school and are £5 in advance or £5 on the gate.
