Olympic Torch Coming to Kent

Maidstone had been picked as a 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Host! It means the Olympic Torch will be visiting Maidstone on its journey around the UK - so it will be well worth a little trip up from Sevenoaks to witness this bit of history.

There will be a cauldron lighting ceremony at Leeds Castle on 19th July 2012, one of 66 such evening celebrations being held across the UK.

The Olympic Flame will arrive at the Olympic Stadium on 27th July 2012 for the Opening Ceremony, after having been carried around the UK by a total of 8,000 inspirational Torchbearers.
