Friday 16 November 2012 is the closing date for applications to receive up to £5,000 of grant funding.

Sevenoaks District Council's Community Grant Scheme aims to help voluntary organisations whose services are available to residents of the Sevenoaks District, particularly those in the greatest need.

Small grants of £500 or less and larger grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available to local voluntary and charitable organisations to help them with their work over the next financial year, 2013/14.

This year saw £54,790 distributed between 29 voluntary and community organisations to provide services for local residents. A further £98,540 was allocated to the two Citizens Advice Bureaux in Sevenoaks District to help them provide independent, confidential and impartial advice to support residents.

Cllr Pat Bosley, Sevenoaks District Council's Cabinet Member for community grants, says: "I would urge voluntary and community groups to apply for this help to fund their services. It is important to support these local services and contribute to a variety of services for residents through this scheme."

Eligibility conditions apply, and full information is given in the application pack. The guidelines can be viewed on the Council's website at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/grants

For more information and an application pack contact the Council on 01732 227000 or e-mail grants@sevenoaks.gov.uk.
