Fieldstaff Antiques, Rochester

This is Kent reader parkerka said: "I was amazed at how many items this shop had. A real little treasure cave. I was after some pretty flowered plates and they had just what I was after, although I have to say I came out with a lot more, such beautiful things. The staff were so welcoming which made you feel at ease. I left the shop very happy, and can't wait to return to buy more!"

Mark Maynard Antiques, Tunbridge Wells

This is Kent reader Acj30 said: "If you like the 'shabby chic' look head down to Mark Maynard. Fantastic one off pieces of French furniture either new or reconditioned at affordable prices. It's also a treasure trove of gifts for birthdays and the like. Helpful staff. They also paint furniture to your specification for a small charge if not to your liking."

Burgate Antiques, Canterbury

This is Kent reader amieoc said: "Whether you're looking to treat yourself to some reasonably priced antique jewellery, or after a gift, there always seems to be something in this shop. The owners are very good at helping to pick out pressies and stock quite a wide variety of bits and bobs considering it looks so small from the outside.

"So far we've bought everything from an Arts and Crafts ring to a lovely lipstick case with its own mirror. It's not just for the girlies either, although I must say I haven't got past the jewellery cabinets so far!"

Bagham Barn Antiques, Chilham

This is Kent reader mrs_bumble said: "This is an adorable little building selling high standard antiques as well as some quirkier little bits of vintage niceness. The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable about their field and dead enthusiastic. Worth heading to if you're after a special addition to the house, I went crazy when I moved! Some great finds."

Claremont Antiques, Sevenoaks

This is Kent reader Alan87 said: "Claremont Antiques in London Road specialise in breathtaking antique furniture and beautiful artworks. Buying their products, you really feel as if you are investing in a piece of history."

Yi Ju, Tunbridge Wells

This is Kent reader victor1102 said: "Yi Ju in The Pantiles sells a unique collection of antique Chinese furntiture. This shop is a must-visit for anyone with an adventurous taste who is looking to add a touch of the exotic to their home."

Great list, I haven't tried a few of these places, but I will now! Already a big fan of Canterbury's Burgate Antiques. Would recommend Briggsy's in Herne Bay and Scott's in Margate too, both good for furniture and bargain finds.
